Votes at a glance: Lake Forest council approves omnibus items, contracts and adjourns to executive session

- Construction engineering for Waukegan & Wesley intersection (Gewalt Hamilton Associates Inc.): approved 7–0 (see separate article).
- Omnibus items (8 items): approved 7–0. The omnibus list included approval of minutes (Dec. 1, 2025) and a check register (Nov. 15–Dec. 26, 2025); extension of a grant-services agreement with the Ferguson Group (grant research/writing services for 2026); security camera and access-control maintenance for fiscal year 2026 with Modern Media Technologies ($43,770); authorization to waive bidding and contract with a pyrotechnics vendor for the Deerpath Park fireworks event ($44,500); an IDOT resolution to appropriate $1,500,000 in motor fuel tax funds for the 2026 paving/resurfacing program; first reading of an ordinance recommending approval for 58 Marion Avenue; and plan-commission recommendation for the Saunders Estates subdivision at 480 Saunders Road.
- Authorization for the city manager to be a co-applicant with Lake Forest Open Lands Association to the Illinois Nature Preserve Commission for dedication of 48.7 acres at McCormick Ravine: approved 7–0 (see separate article).
- Adjournment into executive session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) (personnel): approved 7–0.
All votes were recorded as seven ayes, zero nays; Alderman Foster was absent for roll calls. Several items included dollar amounts cited on the record; full contract documents and ordinance language were not read into the transcript and remain on file with city staff.
