Bronze Rose Council donates $325,800 for bronze rose sculpture at Tyler Rose Complex; council accepts and authorizes payment

Leanne Robinette, director of parks and recreation, told council the Bronze Rose Council, a coalition of local garden clubs, is donating $325,800 to fund a professional bronze rose sculpture to be placed at the Tyler Rose Complex between the Berkshires Conference Center and the Tyler Rose Garden. Robinette said the design company, Randolph Rose Collection, requires a 50% deposit ($162,900) to begin custom design and casting; an additional 25% is due upon written approval and the final 25% upon completion. She said the donation will be processed through the East Texas Communities Foundation and the sculpture is expected to be completed in 12–14 months once approved.
Council accepted the donation (M3) and authorized payment (M4) to the Randolph Rose Collection by voice vote. Robinette listed participating garden clubs and committee leadership and noted several committee members were in attendance.
