Cameron (city staff) presented a low bid from WM Miller Construction Company to address recurring structure flooding and street inundation north of Shiloh Road, between Puluxi and Chad and east of Cumberland Academy. The work will increase the capacity of undersized drainage boxes, replace curb inlets and reroute flows to Shiloh Road to reduce flooding in yards and streets.
Cameron said the low bid (bid number 26004) was $587,169.20 and recommended the city manager be authorized to execute the construction contract with WM Miller. A council member who said neighborhood residents would be "thrilled" moved to approve the contract; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
