The Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment unanimously approved a variance on November 12 to allow homeowners Jasmine Jacob and Diva Rajukunath to exceed the 24‑foot maximum driveway width at 27 Clearview Drive to address snow, ice and water intrusion problems.
The applicants told the board their driveway sits on a steep slope with a retaining wall that makes snow removal difficult; they plan to rip out and repave the entire drive to improve grading and drainage. “Twice so far water...came inside our garage to the basement,” one applicant said, explaining the change is intended to reduce flooding and improve safety when winter storms make on‑street parking impractical.
During the hearing the applicants reported receiving an email that purported to approve their application but requested a large wire transfer. Staff present said similar fraudulent emails have circulated, that the city’s IT department had been notified, and urged applicants to ignore such requests.
Vice‑chair Josh Neely moved to approve the variance, Joseph Pottery seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
