The Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment unanimously approved a variance on November 12 allowing Andrew and Jennifer Piper to construct an 8x10 shed that will encroach 4 feet into a required 6‑ft side‑yard setback at 4 Doncaster Drive.
Andrew Piper, the property owner, said backyard topography creates a low area where water pools and that the selected location is level and does not flood. He said the shed would be tucked behind an existing fence and adjacent to a neighbor's similar structure, limiting visibility from the street; the shed would also allow him to use his garage for vehicle storage.
Board members noted similar sheds in the neighborhood and the property’s elevation changes. JP Boucher moved to approve the variance; Robert Shaw seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
