Staff noted some boxes (for example, a high-voltage box) are off-limits and said they would work with the artist to select an appropriate site.
Commissioners moved to amend the agenda to consider the request tonight and then moved to accept Frederick’s proposal, leaving specifics of site selection and final approvals to staff (Aaron). The commission requested that staff collect photos and required documentation after the painting is completed. The motion carried on a roll-call vote.
Staff will coordinate logistics, confirm the chosen box is city-owned and permissible to paint, and collect high-resolution photos for the commission’s records before closing the file.
