Staff told the committee that the parcel (Erie County parcel 57‑02901) is 33 by 132 feet, valued in the packet at approximately $7,760, and that the two‑family building on the adjoining parcel has no evidence of occupancy since 2017. "Her property consists of an upper and a lower unit, and there is no indication that the property has been occupied since 2017," staff said during the presentation.
One committee member said they were "a little uncomfortable approving it as presented just for the fact that the property has not been moved towards a state of habitability since 2017," and recommended the request be resubmitted with active renovation permits and a plan for occupancy. The committee then took a roll‑call vote; the motion to approve the acquisition failed, with five recorded "no" votes.
Staff will notify the applicant that additional information—such as building permits, a renovation timeline or evidence of occupancy—must be provided before the committee will reconsider the request. Taxes and recording/combination fees would have been charged to the purchaser; the packet indicated a recommended purchase price consistent with the city’s side‑lot expansion policy (a $200 application fee plus combination expenses).
