Senators recognize Summit Stone Health Partners, CICA; Bridges highlights Great Colorado Payback

During the opening of the Senate session members paused for a series of recognitions and announcements.
A senator who requested a moment of personal privilege introduced guests from Summit Stone Health Partners and described the organization as a key provider of behavioral health services in Northern Colorado. On the floor senators said Summit Stone supported more than 10,000 individuals in 2025 and provides crisis intervention, detox and withdrawal management, outpatient treatment, mobile crisis response and peer-led supports.
Senator Pelton introduced Harold Unwin, president of the Colorado Independent Cattlemen's Association (CICA), and his wife Peg and invited members to greet them on the floor. The senator noted Mr. Unwin owns a ranch near Kim, Colorado.
Senator Bridges highlighted 'Great Colorado Payback' ahead of National Unclaimed Property Day, stating that about one in 10 Coloradans has unclaimed property and citing that the program holds roughly $2,500,000,000 owed to about 17,000,000 rightful owners. Bridges urged colleagues to check greatcopayback.com and to claim any funds that may belong to them.
Members also announced committee meetings and events: the Joint Budget Committee will meet on adjournment to consider supplemental budget requests for health care finance; the Joint Health and Human Services Committee planned a SMART Act hearing shortly after adjournment in the Old State Library; the Forest Health Council legislative breakfast is scheduled Thursday morning in the Old Supreme Court chamber; and the State Affairs Committee will hear Senate Bill 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Old Supreme Court chamber.
