Glynn County records three bids for Selden Park fence replacement

Resin Tower, director of procurement for the Glynn County Board of Commissioners, opened a public bid opening for the Selden Park fence replacement project and announced the proceedings were being streamed on the county's YouTube channel. "So in total, 3 bids were received on this project," Tower said.
The procurement office recorded three bids. Tower read the bidders and the totals as listed on the county tabulation sheet: Piedmont Reconstruction Company Inc.; TJR Group Inc.; and TNT Fencing Company Inc. Piedmont's submission included separate prices for individual field work and a lump sum; the transcript lists figures read as 323,000 (individual cost total) and 242,000 (lump sum) as presented. TJR Group's bid was recorded as $144,493.74, the same figure listed for both the individual and lump-sum proposals. TNT Fencing Company Inc. submitted a combined figure recorded as $110,000 for both requested price formats.
Tower told attendees that procurement and the project manager would review all paperwork for accuracy and completion and cautioned that the lowest dollar bid may not be the recommended awardee after review. "Please keep in mind that the lowest response a bid may not be the recommended awardee when the bid review process is complete," Tower said, stressing the review will consider technical compliance and completeness in addition to price.
The county posted the bid tabulation sheet to its open procurement website at the conclusion of the opening, Tower said, and any recommended award will go first to the finance committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners at the board's next scheduled monthly meeting. Tower closed the public session and provided a county contact for follow-up questions.
Next steps: procurement staff and the project manager will complete their review of submitted materials and submit a recommended award to the finance committee; the Board of Commissioners will consider that recommendation at a future meeting.
