The procurement director for Glynn County announced that Ellen and Graham Inc. was the sole bidder on the Coast Guard Beach Park Construction project, and read the firm's line-item lump-sum prices.
The director said the bid included a $5,481,420.57 lump sum for a life-saving tower, $770,683.05 for hardscape work, $394,106.38 for landscape, and $3,774,778.05 for site drainage and parking-lot improvements, for a combined total of $10,420,988.05. "All paperwork will be reviewed by myself and the project manager for accuracy and completion," the director said.
The procurement director reminded listeners that "the lowest response of bid may not be the recommended awardee" and that the county reserves the right to waive technicalities in awarding contracts. The director said the tabulation sheet will be posted to Glynn County's e-procurement website at the conclusion of the opening. Once county staff determine a recommended award, that recommendation will be presented to the finance committee and then the full Board of Commissioners at their next scheduled monthly meeting.
No formal award or motion was made during the opening; staff indicated they will complete paperwork review and follow the county's standard award process.
