Glynn County opened public bids for IFB 25‑027, the McKenzie Road and Prater Lane Extension project, and recorded two submissions, procurement analyst Nikki Thompson said.
Thompson, who identified herself as the county procurement analyst, told attendees that "bid openings are publicly held events that are open to the general public and streamed live on the county's Facebook and YouTube channels," and reminded in‑person participants to sign the attendance sheet.
She said all paperwork will be reviewed by procurement staff and the project manager for accuracy and completion and cautioned: "Please keep in mind that the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee when the bid review process is complete." Thompson said a tabulation sheet will be posted to the county website as soon as it is available and urged bidders to sign up for bid alerts on the county site.
At the reading, Thompson announced two bids. The transcript records a bid from Georgia Asphalt Producers Incorporated for an amount that appears garbled in the record (reported as "$2,503,000.412" and then also read as "dollars and 50¢"); the county should be consulted for the official tabulation. The second bid, read as from Plant Improvement Company doing business as Seaboard Construction Company, was recorded in the transcript as $2,737,319.29.
Thompson said the recommended award will be presented to the finance committee and then to the full board of commissioners at their next scheduled monthly meeting. For questions, the transcript provides the contact email thompson@glynncounty-ga.gov.
The bid opening concluded after the two bids were read and recorded. Glynn County will post the official tabulation on its website and notify registered bidders when it is available.
