The Franklin Beer Board voted to approve a special-event beer permit for WAVES, Inc., doing business as Brews & Grooves, to hold a fundraising concert at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park on Sept. 19, 2024. The board approved the application after staff reported the inspections were complete and recommended approval.
Jacob Goings, managing agent for the event, told the board the organization has served Williamson County for about 50 years and that this is the third time hosting the Brews & Grooves event at Eastern Flank. "It's a fundraising event," he said, adding that the event is ticketed and that "everyone who purchases a ticket has access to everything for free for the event." Goings also confirmed the organization understood and would follow the board's rules on alcohol service and underage patrons.
A board member asked about WAVES' past experience running the event; Goings said he is new to WAVES but the organization has produced the event previously. The board moved to approve the application; the motion was seconded and the board voted in favor. The approval was recorded on the meeting record.
