Board approves Kings Bowl ownership-change beer permit for Franklin location

The Franklin City board voted to approve a beer permit for Kings Bowl of Franklin LLC on Nov. 12, 2024, following staff confirmation that the application was complete and the certificate of occupancy was on file.
Ryan Mercurio, an attorney with Belcher Sykes Harrington representing Kings Bowl, told the board the change reflects an internal ownership restructuring tied to a sale and that the premises and operations would remain the same. “This is largely an internal ownership change, related to a sale, and, otherwise, the premises is not changing at all,” Mercurio said.
John Tosi, vice president of operations for Kings Bowl, told the board the business had recently lost two owners and said the public should not expect changes to the customer experience. A motion to approve the beer permit was made and seconded; the roll-call vote was recorded as Alderman Barnhill yes, Alderman Caesar yes and the chair yes.
The approval formalizes an ownership change on file with city staff; the board offered condolences to the company for its recent losses.
