Chair proposed a motion to extend the temporary permit through Feb. 10 if staff lacked authority; members debated the procedural implications and whether the applicant should instead apply for a second temporary. The motion was withdrawn and the board instructed staff to contact the applicant about applying for a second temporary permit and to consult the law department about extension authority. The board voted to defer the full application to Feb. 10 (Alderman Barnhill yes; Alderman Caesar yes; Chair yes).
No final decision on extending the temporary was recorded; staff will follow up with the applicant and the law department and report back at or before the Feb. 10 meeting.
