Northlake delays annexation of ~25.5 acres in H Street Cattle addition to Aug. 28

The Northlake Town Council on Aug. 14 postponed consideration of annexing roughly 25.5 acres in the H Street Cattle addition to Aug. 28 at the request of the property owner.
Staff described a previously approved development agreement for property owned by Checkered Flag Investments and said the agreement has not been executed because the owner wanted to discuss details with a business tenant. Nathan (Speaker 7), who provided the overview, said the owner has asked for postponement while those tenant discussions happen.
The council voted unanimously to postpone the item to Aug. 28 and scheduled a public hearing at that date and time. Staff also explained that, by annexing the property and collecting property taxes, the town would waive a previously applied road-assessment fee that helped fund a Del Earnhardt road expansion project.
The motion to postpone was made and seconded during the meeting and carried without dissent. The council did not take final annexation action that night; the item will return to the agenda on Aug. 28 with a public hearing.
