After executive session, Northlake council authorizes eminent domain for Faught Road project and approves EDC amendment
Summary
Following executive session the council authorized use of eminent domain to acquire a narrow right‑of‑way for the Faught Road drainage/road reconstruction project, approved an amendment to a Chapter 380 economic development agreement with Northlake Innkeepers and authorized a development agreement for the Trammell Crow property.
After a closed executive session on Nov. 13, the Northlake Town Council returned to the dais and voted on multiple items discussed in session.
Eminent domain: Council adopted a resolution authorizing the use of eminent domain to acquire approximately 0.0488 acres needed for the Faught Road drainage improvements and road reconstruction project. The motion, which included a property description referencing the Patrick Rock survey and a recorded warranty deed to Jeanette Dutton, carried on a unanimous vote.
Economic development: Council authorized the town manager to negotiate and execute an amendment to a Chapter 380 economic development agreement involving the Northlake Economic Development Corporation/CDC and Northlake Innkeepers; the motion carried unanimously.
Development agreement: Council authorized the town manager to negotiate and execute a development agreement with Denton Cross Timbers Partners LLC (Trammell Crow property) consistent with earlier site‑plan approval; motion carried unanimously.
Tabling: Council also moved to table an item (redline version of an enacted 1999 text) for review and asked staff to provide a redline at the next meeting.
Personnel: Council reconvened to executive session later for a personnel matter, returned with no further action and adjourned the meeting.
