Commission adopts stormwater regulation amendments after committee review

Commissioner Wilson moved to hear and the board approved consideration of Resolution 50823, which proposes amendments to the county’s stormwater management regulations originally adopted on Nov. 8, 2004. Commissioner Wilson told the commission the Stormwater Appeals Board has worked since 2004 to improve enforcement and clarify when penalties apply and how appeals are handled, and said the committee vote on the proposed amendments was 5-0.
The commission voted to adopt Resolution 50823 on a unanimous recorded vote (23-0). The amendments were described as clarifications to make penalties and the appeals process easier to understand and enforce.
Because the public hearing was opened and closed with no speakers, the measure advanced directly to the committee report and vote.
Next steps: the county will publish the amended stormwater regulations and continue enforcement through the Stormwater Appeals Board.
