During visitor speaking time, veterans and community members urged the Webster Central School District Board of Education to consider property‑tax relief targeted to veterans.
Joe Sadowski, who identified himself as a veteran who served from 1962 to 1965, described his household tax burden and proposed "we start some sort of graduated reduction in taxes for veterans" that would phase in over roughly 10 years so those in the approximate 62–72 age band would eventually “be paying no more school taxes.” He framed the proposal as a means to support veterans on fixed incomes and noted the pressures of rising costs.
Jason Richards, who identified himself as a retired Army sergeant major and Legionnaire, spoke in support of veterans receiving consideration for tax incentives, noting that many veterans are on fixed incomes and that community members continue to contribute to civic life through coaching, emergency services and other volunteer leadership.
Board staff reminded attendees that public‑comment speakers must sign up in advance (by noon) and offered to help unscheduled speakers arrange to present at a future meeting.
