Board approves Education Foundation, BOCES technology lease and routine audits

The Webster Central School District Board of Education on Jan. 13 approved a series of routine and organizational items, including establishment of the Webster Central School District Education Foundation, a three‑year BOCES technology lease, and the district’s federal and internal audits.

Business office staff reported that October is a high cash‑flow month due to tax collections and that the state expedited September school‑lunch reimbursements. The board approved the October treasurer’s report and accepted the annual extra‑class audit and corrective action plan; presenters described only routine paperwork findings for student Treasury accounts. The district’s federal single audit — which included a review of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) funding — was reported as clean with no findings.

For technology, the board approved a BOCES lease to refresh desktops and some Apple MacBooks used in specialized curricula; presenters said 65 district MacBooks remain in use and that BOCES provides aid that covers interest payments over the three‑year lease cycle.
