Lockport Township HSD 205 celebrates student honors, notes Thanksgiving week off

At the start of the Nov. 17 briefing, Dr. Bob McBride congratulated district students and athletic teams. He noted swimmer Bella Barrett finished ninth in her event at the IHSA state series and that the girls volleyball team placed third in the IHSA state series. He also said Porter football will play Oswego in the Class 8A semifinals.
McBride recognized students who attained a perfect score of 36 on the ACT and those who achieved National Merit commended status, explaining that the commended students ranked in the top 1% of about 3.5 million PSAT/NMSQT test-takers nationwide.
As a closing announcement, McBride reminded families that students will have no school the entire week of Thanksgiving, a new calendar addition, and closed the briefing with a rallying message: “Go, Porters. Beat Oswego.”
