The Vandalia City Council on Feb. 2 approved a set of routine resolutions and emergency ordinances covering economic-development membership, capital projects, an acceptance of grant funds and a zoning variance.
Council approved Resolution 26R-07 to renew membership in Montgomery County’s Business First program, which staff said provides a business-visit database, training and bimonthly collaboration meetings. The renewal requires a resolution and carries a $1,500 annual fee. The motion passed on a roll call of five yes, one abstention; Council Member Bradford stated the abstention was due to current employment.
A resolution of intent (26R-08) to reimburse the city’s water fund from future tax-exempt debt for the Damien/Souter/Romanes/DeSales North water-main replacement passed 6–0.…
