Residents tell council they oppose actions tied to resolution 2025‑25, pressing for neighborhood meeting first

Cave Creek — During the public‑comment period on Jan. 8, multiple residents urged the council to pause any further action related to Resolution 2025‑25 and to use a scheduled neighborhood meeting on Jan. 14 to review property‑specific impacts.
Bob Lafave (36594 North 36th Street) said several affected residents filed formal written objections with exhibits documenting impacts including drainage, utilities, wildlife, traffic and emergency access. He asked the council to ensure no further action is taken until the neighborhood meeting completes review.
Gary Page (36410 North 36th Street) and a neighboring resident described a long history regarding Glory Road, alleging barriers and blockages over years and referencing federal land‑patent claims. Page asked the town to restore Glory Road to provide emergency access and convenience to neighborhood residents and said doing so would resolve issues raised by two petitions filed years apart.
A resident who identified herself as Page’s wife described narrow roadway conditions on 36th Street, recent washouts, and the risk that routine maintenance or repaving could temporarily cut off access for multiple houses if Glory Road remains closed. She urged the council to consider emergency‑access implications.
Council acknowledged the submissions and confirmed the neighborhood meeting had been scheduled; staff and council did not take immediate action at the meeting and residents asked that any council action wait until after the Jan. 14 discussion.
