Princeton council approves housing lease extensions, legal services and sustainability contract

The Princeton Mayor and Council approved a series of resolutions at the Jan. 12 meeting, including multiple housing lease extensions, a municipal legal services contract and a sustainability services agreement.
The council voted by voice on several housing-related resolutions that extend property lease and management agreements under the Housing Initiatives of Princeton Charitable Trust. Resolutions approved included extensions for 14 Clearview Avenue (Resolution 26-028), 132 Brick House Road (26-029), 134 Griggs Drive (26-030) and 140 Griggs Drive (26-031). Motions and seconders were recorded during the roll call for each item and each passed on voice vote.
Council also approved Resolution 26-032 to award a professional services agreement to Mason Griffin & Pearson, PC for municipal attorney services for 2026 in an amount not to exceed $400,000. The motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
The council extended an extraordinary services agreement with Sustainable Princeton for sustainability services not to exceed $150,000 (Resolution 26-033). Council member Brian praised Sustainable Princeton’s work, calling it "one of the great success stories over the last 12 years" and noting its leadership on the community sustainability and climate action plan. Council member Layton added gratitude for the group’s equity-focused approach and said the town hopes to lean on Sustainable Princeton as the council implements a new equity toolkit.
