Payne said the district requires contractual assurances from vendors that student personally identifiable information (PII) will not be aggregated, resold or published, and that data be encrypted in transit and at rest.
Secondary staff developer Kelly Fokianos described staff training and classroom supports; administration noted a plain‑language summary and links are posted on the district website. The superintendent confirmed district devices have filtering and use GoGuardian to restrict sites and alert staff to flagged searches (including self‑harm), and that the district prefers students use district devices because they allow that additional management and monitoring when off campus.
Board members asked for clarifications; administration said it will provide contacts for parents with further questions.
