Adams County commissioners voted to adopt a temporary open‑burning ban and approved two rezoning ordinances during their regular meeting.
Clayton, who introduced the measures, said the short title for the burn restriction is “an ordinance of the Board of Commissioners County of Adams, State of Indiana, which declares a ban on open burning due to drought conditions until further notice.” The ordinance language defines open burning to include “igniting any material on the ground in a burn barrel, fire ring, fire pit, brush pile or other outdoor location.”
