Adams County commissioners voted to approve routine administrative items and a package of contracts and operational plans during their regular meeting.
The board adopted amended minutes from Nov. 12, approved Resolution 2024-10 designating the county’s regular meeting schedule, and authorized the payment of utilities reported at approximately $30,005.26. Commissioners also approved Allied Weekly health insurance claims totaling about $57,007.43 (medical roughly $12,009.41; prescription roughly $44,009.14) and payroll claims of about $393,009.50, which staff said were higher this period because of election-related pay.
On personnel and contracting, the commission approved a temporary contract to re-engage Lynn Gills as a contractor at $25 per hour to process a backlog of deeds while a regular staff member is absent; staff said Gills would invoice for hours and the work will be paid from the appropriate departmental budget/claims. Separately, the board approved an addendum to the Adams County Jail’s medical-services contract (Quality Correctional Care) that county staff said changed billing procedures but not pricing, and authorized the sheriff to execute the addendum.
Commissioners also approved a previously prepared quick-claim deed conveying a parcel from the parks department to Root Township, and they adopted an updated debris-management plan that clarified the county’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) would be in charge of coordinated debris-management activities once the plan is activated. Staff will circulate the signed plan to department heads and municipal partners for acknowledgement.
