Commissioners approve small-structure and bridge repairs, accept consultant supplement

"They started on Monday with milling of the concrete bridge deck," staff said, noting additional hand-shimming and flowable-fill work will be required at the approaches.
On Bridge 150 over the Wabash, staff recommended accepting Pioneer Associates' proposal for $11,150 to pump flowable fill and install a concrete curb detail to prevent groundhog tunneling under the approach slab. Commissioners moved and approved the Pioneer Associates quote.
Separately, staff described a supplemental agreement with consultant BFNS for geotechnical testing after project scope expanded to include replacing pilings. The BFNS supplement increases the consultant fee by $16,192, to be charged to the consultant services line; commissioners approved the change by motion.
No final project closeout dates or contractor contacts were provided for the BFNS or Pioneer work during the meeting; staff said funds are available within the project budget to cover the BFNS supplement.
