City staff recommended and the council approved Resolution 5849 to award job-order contracts for annual sewer cleaning to Allison Mills Contracting and Ancon Services; staff said the city budgets $450,000 annually for the program and selected two firms to ensure emergency coverage.
The Casa Grande City Council on a voice and roll-call vote approved Resolution 5849 to award job-order contracts for the city's annual sewer-cleaning program to Allison Mills Contracting and Ancon Services.
City staff told the council the procurement followed a request-for-proposals process and that the city selected two firms to ensure coverage during emergencies when a single contractor might not be available. “This is for a job order contract, for maintenance services in our sewer system, specifically for cleaning,” the presenter said, noting the city budgets roughly $450,000 for sewer cleaning annually though the full amount is not always spent.
Council members moved and seconded the resolution as presented and approved it by roll call. Staff said the approach allows the city to continue routine maintenance while retaining additional capacity for emergency response. No council member requested separate discussion or removal of the consent item.
Implementation will be by the city manager's office and public-works staff under the terms of the approved job-order contract, and staff said they would proceed with executing agreements and managing expenditures within the approved budget for the year.
