Commissioners described the county contribution as $3,000 that the program uses as a local match to unlock additional state and federal dollars; one explanation in the meeting said a $3,000 county match could be turned into roughly $12,000 in program funding through matching rules. Commissioners also said the county did not always receive or process invoices in prior years and asked staff to obtain next-year contracts in June so funds can be in place for the July cycle.
A motion to sign the contract was made and carried, subject to clarifying language agreed during the motion about termination and administrative rights. Staff will follow up with program administrators to confirm invoicing and participant lists.
