Facilities update: elevator recertified and routine repairs reported at Iroquois County administrative center
Summary
County maintenance staff reported Feb. 2 that the courthouse elevator was pressure-tested and recertified, the 911 server room's chemical suppression system was serviced, and several heat-pump, lighting and jail repair items were addressed.
At the Feb. 2 Management Services Committee meeting, Mister Drake delivered a facilities report covering recent maintenance at the Iroquois County administrative center and jail.
Drake told the committee the elevator "got pressure tested, recertified," and that he coordinates compression testing and certification paperwork with Otis and the state before sending results to the fire marshal. He also reported that Getz had tested the chemical suppression system in the 911 server room, completed twice-yearly service, and that a faulty thermostat in a workforce office heat pump was replaced after corroded contacts were discovered.
Other items included replacement of several LED light drivers and fixtures in the circuit clerk's office, repair work on a parking-lot light pole that had been flashing at night, and a number of smaller jail repairs such as a broken shower component and a heater in the lobby that required service. Drake also described addressing a pump motor coupling that sheared in the penthouse and a temporarily patched expansion tank in the jail basement that he plans to replace.
The committee thanked Drake for the work and the Chair noted appreciation for staff maintenance efforts that keep county facilities operational. No formal action was required on the maintenance items; they were reported for the record and will be tracked by county facilities staff.
