County finance and management staff updated the committee Feb. 5 on several administrative items. A project assessor described a letter-and‑invoice package modeled on a Fulton County practice to bill townships for assessor work, listing residential and commercial parcel counts and proposing a 90‑day payment window; staff said nonpayment could trigger state's‑attorney involvement and potential withholding of tax distributions.
Management services reported the existing county farm tenant’s lease was mutually terminated and recommended opening a bid process for the remaining lease term; committee members discussed proposed revisions to the lease form and the goal of returning recommended bid language at the next county board meeting.
On audit work, staff said external auditors from CLA requested updated trial balances and supporting documents to resume the county audit and that the county will request another six‑month extension (the previous extension covered through January). The committee noted remaining work on revenue and treasurer’s office items and asked staff to follow up.
The committee also moved and approved claims by voice vote during the consent portion of the agenda.
