Pearland presents UDC 50% draft timeline after wide-ranging workshop on zoning, signs and housing

Pearland elected officials and planning staff used a Sept. 22 joint Planning & Zoning and City Council workshop to report public input and steer a rewrite of the city nd planning code, known as the Unified Development Code (UDC).
Claire Hempel, a principal with Design Workshop, said the project has finished two phases and is in Phase 3, Task 1, with a 50% draft scheduled for Dec. 15 that will include structural edits, revised graphics and process refinements. "This draft will encompass the recommended updates, including simple structural changes, updated graphics for certain sections, and refinements to review processes to ensure alignment with state law," Hempel said.
