Elmhurst council adopts consent agenda, approves $3.46 million in payments

Elmhurst — The Elmhurst City Council adopted its consent agenda during the Feb. 2 meeting, approving multiple ordinances, contracts, resolutions, appointments and the accounts payable register totaling $3,464,933.21.

Clerk Tamer read the consent agenda items, which included: minutes and accounts payable; appointment and reappointment items (Economic Development Commission, Fire Pension Board); redevelopment and lease/contract amendments; multiple engineering and construction contract authorizations and notices of award for sanitary sewer lining, sewer cleaning/televising and manhole rehabilitation; an ordinance adding a phosphorus fee to the municipal water charges; a resolution approving a business improvement and renovation grant for Sparkset Collective at 128 N. Addison Ave.; and other routine contract and grant items. The consent agenda was moved by Alderman Nudera and seconded by Alderman Virgil and passed on roll call 13 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent.

What this means: The council took no separate votes on individual consent items; passage authorizes staff to proceed with contracted work, grant execution and administrative updates listed in the consent package. The mayor later announced a neighborhood traffic open house on Feb. 9 and recognized long‑time veterans commission member Ralph Picciano and newly sworn Fire Lieutenant Zach Russ Savage.
