Phil, representing the Downtown West Bend Association, told the BID board that recent winter events drew community engagement and raised money for local causes. The Polar Express winter cocktail promotion, he said, raised roughly $1,500 to donate to the Full Shelf Food Pantry, and ice sculptures from a mid-January event remain on display pending city removal.
Phil also said the association is soliciting artists and sponsors for the annual art-banner program and previewed upcoming ticketed events, including Chocolate Around the Bend (a Valentine’s weekend ticketed chocolate walk) and a small indoor market for roughly eight vendors at the Eden Avenue event space.
Noelle, representing The Bend Theatre, reported a busy month of shows and listed upcoming performers and fundraisers, including events tied to Chocolate Around the Bend and ticketed concerts that serve as fundraisers for community groups such as West Bend Power Hockey.
The Downtown West Bend Association said it expects up to about 500 people at one of the spring events and will continue promoting banner sponsorship and artist solicitations ahead of the May banner premiere and auction.
