West Bend BID board approves 2025 financial report, allocates $10,000 to 2026 marketing

The City of West Bend Business Improvement District (BID) Board approved the BID’s financial report for the year ending Dec. 31, 2025, and authorized moving unspent 2025 funds to the 2026 marketing budget at its Feb. 3 meeting.

City staff told the board the books for 2025 are near closure and that, overall, the BID’s accounts were essentially balanced; one line reported about $2 over budget but was offset by savings elsewhere. "At this point, we don't believe we have any outstanding invoices," staff said, adding the books will remain open for a few more weeks and staff will provide another update if new items appear.

During the president’s report the board president pressed members with concerns about BID spending to attend meetings or contact staff directly, saying, "We are all here as volunteers to be good stewards of the bid funds," and announced a member survey to solicit feedback on priorities.

A separate motion to allocate undesignated 2025 carryover into the 2026 marketing line was made and seconded; the presiding officer called the vote and the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said the action will allow the BID to start 2026 with a $10,000 marketing balance; any future changes to that allocation would require further board motions.

The board did not record a roll-call tally in the meeting minutes; staff and the presiding officer indicated motions carried by voice vote. Staff will finalize year-end accounting and report back at the next meeting if any adjustments are required.
