Peoria reports ERP go-live, Paloma rec center outreach and new automation to speed services

City manager Henry Darwin used the Oct. 7 council meeting to update the council on several operational items.
Darwin said the city’s new enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) financial module went live this month, replacing a 27-year-old system; staff are preparing the human-resources module for rollout as the next phase. He recognized staff who led the implementation and said the change will improve financial reporting and operations.
On parks planning, Darwin announced two resident open houses for the proposed Paloma Community Park recreation center (Oct. 13 at Peoria Sports Complex and Oct. 15 at American Leadership Academy in Vistancia, both 5–7 p.m.). Those sessions will gather resident input to inform conceptual designs and a consultant-led plan to return to boards and council in spring 2026.
Darwin also summarized an innovation pilot deploying robotic process automation (RPA) with Sync Solutions to automate the city’s container-repair workflow (15,000 tasks per year). The automation uses three software 'bots' to open work orders, schedule vendor spreadsheets and close completed requests; Darwin said the bots save the city about 20 staff hours per week and free staff to focus on complex issues.
Darwin closed with operational storm-response metrics from late September and upcoming community events. No council action was required.
