Pearland — The City Council authorized an amendment to the construction contract to add Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) number 3 for the Berry Rose and Longwood water infrastructure project during its Nov. 17 meeting.
City staff and the owner's representative reported that GMP #3 covers the forcemain from the Longwood lift station to the Berry Rose plant, demolition of old infrastructure, FF&E, commissioning, landscaping and related construction items. The recommended GMP of just over $23.2 million was the result of proposals evaluated in August by McCarthy (construction manager at‑risk), Ardura (owner’s rep), and city staff.
Council was told the overall construction contract value (all GMPs) totals approximately $216.45 million; the project schedule remains on track with final completion expected April 28, 2026. Council voted 7–0 to approve the contract amendment adding GMP #3.
City staff said the project is about two‑thirds complete on the earlier GMP phases and that the amendment locks in final pricing for remaining scope within the approved budget. The contract award authorizes the contractor to proceed with the final scope covered by GMP #3.
