Caldwell Council approves consent calendar, appointments and IAFF charter-number resolution; enters executive session

At the regular council meeting the Caldwell City Council took several formal actions.

Consent calendar: Council moved and seconded approval of the consent calendar; the mayor announced the motion passed.

IAFF charter-number resolution: Councilor Denber moved to approve a resolution acknowledging the Caldwell Firefighters Union's change of charter number from IAFF local 1821 to IAFF local 1056; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Mayoral appointments: The council moved and seconded to confirm the mayor's appointments to city boards, commissions and committees as specified in Caldwell City Code section 2-06-01. One councilor asked about an item called "Caldwell Live" listed in the packet; staff said it will be added to a future agenda. Council confirmed the appointments unanimously.

Finance report: A motion to accept accounts payable of $3,602,779.20 (checks 191082–191441) and electronic payments/payroll of $958,300 was moved and seconded; council voted to approve the payments unanimously.

Executive session: Council moved and seconded to enter executive session under Idaho Code 74-206(c) (acquire interest in real property not owned by a public agency) and (d) (consider records exempt from public disclosure). Idaho law required a roll-call vote; all members voted yes and the council adjourned to executive session.

All recorded motions at this meeting passed by unanimous vote or as announced by the mayor; the meeting then adjourned into executive session and the public portion concluded.
