Human resources presented the process as thorough, involving paper screening, in‑basket exercises, multiple interviews and surveys of school staff. Presenter Mister Madley told the board it was "a competitive, application process" with multiple interview panels and community input.
The board voted to appoint Guadalupe Alejos to El Mirage Elementary, Alicia Ashby to Rancho Gabriela, Callie Cachette to Surprise Elementary and Ralph Quintana to Thompson Ranch. Each appointment was moved, seconded and announced as "motion carries." Several appointees were present to accept recognition.
Board members congratulated the principals and thanked staff for the vetting process. The appointments take effect with the 2026–27 school year and were approved by majority vote during the meeting.
