Crosby Township trustees approve purchase of 2.5 acres for maintenance building

Crosby Township trustees voted Oct. 14, 2019, to enter a contract to purchase about 2.5 acres from Blue Jay Ventures, LLC for $45,000 to construct a township maintenance building. Charles Heise, identified in the resolution as president of the board, introduced Resolution No. 14-2019 and the board moved and seconded the resolution before a roll-call vote that was recorded as affirmative by trustees present.
The contract specifies a purchase price of $45,000 with $2,500 to be deposited as earnest money. The township’s fiscal officer was asked to certify availability of funds and did so for the purchase. Trustees discussed logistics for signatures and agreed to coordinate delivery of the check to the seller in the coming days.
During discussion trustees noted the new site will allow maintenance operations to be consolidated and tied into existing septic and site access; the board thanked Trustee Jim Niehaus for negotiating the purchase. No amendments to the contract terms were recorded during the meeting.
The board approved the resolution and contract by voice and roll-call votes and directed staff to complete signing and closing steps. The next public meeting was scheduled for Nov. 11, 2019 at 7 p.m.
