Staff said athletic stipends paid to coaches amount to nearly $958,000 district‑wide; when those and other covered costs are apportioned across participants, the district reported an updated per‑student pro rata cost in the range presented at the meeting (staff estimated roughly $650 per student for participation when all costs are included). The board voted unanimously to set the ESA students’ fee at the district’s pro rata share so ESA students pay no more than the district cost of participation.
The student fee schedule approved by the board also incorporates an increased ID fee and other updates previously discussed at the meeting. Motions to approve the ESA athletic participation fee and the fee schedule passed by unanimous voice vote.
