Council fills multiple boards: P&Z, ZBA and parks appointments approved

Parker — Council approved a slate of board and commission appointments during its Nov. 18 meeting, reappointing several incumbents to the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment and filling Parks & Recreation seats.
For Planning & Zoning, council reappointed incumbents named in the packet (Russell Wright, Weiwei Yang and others listed in the meeting materials) and moved Susan Medrano from the Zoning Board of Adjustment to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Council discussed attendance records and whether to leave any seats vacant; after debate the motion to reappoint the listed individuals and to move Medrano passed 5–0.
On the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA), council reappointed Steve Shunkase (transcript spelling), Andrew Ellison and Brian Deaver. Council members noted the ZBA met only once in the year and that some alternates had low attendance; with no new applicants, the incumbents were reappointed by voice vote.
For Parks & Recreation, Councilmember Barron moved to appoint Sherry Ware (position 1), Cindy Lane (position 3) and Donna DeCosta (position 5) as voting members and to name Randall Pfluger and another applicant as alternates. The parks appointments passed on a 4–1 vote; Mayor Pro Tem Pilgrim was recorded as opposed.
Council asked staff to include brief confirmation statuses (yes/no/no response) on packet lists for future reappointment matters so the council and public can see whether incumbents responded to requests to continue serving.
