Planner presentation said the action is the first of several steps needed to improve secondary access to neighborhoods that currently rely on Cloud Road as the only exit.
Patrick Hauptman, a resident who spoke during public comment, urged approval for safety reasons after recounting local fire incidents and the neighborhood’s limited egress options. Council members noted staff received a petition from about 20 nearby landowners and that the resolution is a legal prerequisite to spending town funds on improvements. The motion passed on a voice vote 7–0.
