At the study session Mr. Rothaus presented an ordinance to dissolve the city’s golf course advisory board and transfer its existing public appointees to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board as non‑voting advisory members for the remainder of their terms or until earlier resignation or removal.
He said the golf course advisory board was formed in 1977 when the course was operated by a private company and the board provided additional oversight; now that the course is administered directly by the city parks and recreation department, the advisory board’s active role has diminished and council has determined the separate board is no longer needed.
No formal action was taken at the study session; the ordinance will be placed on the regular meeting agenda for consideration.
