UNLV and RPDPs pitch teacher pipeline events and AI workshops for charter school leaders

Pam Salazar from the RPDPs described a series of AI-focused workshops aimed at school leaders and teachers. She outlined three strands: (1) using AI to inform teacher growth, observations and conferencing; (2) using data at scale to guide school-improvement discussions (virtual session Feb. 26); and (3) leveraging AI in PLCs and classrooms, including lesson planning. Pam also announced a Feb. 19 in-person workshop titled "Leading for the Future: Leveraging AI for Literacy Success," which will couple Science of Reading rollout information with AI-supported literacy strategies. Pam asked school leaders to register at rpdp.net and noted RPDPs publish a weekly brief included in the Wednesday email.
Why it matters: Charter leaders said hiring season and recent CCSD surplusing make outreach to soon-to-be teachers important. UNLV and RPDP programming aims to expand the teacher pipeline into charter schools and to provide practical tools for evaluations and literacy instruction.
