Board appoints Measure H oversight committee and hears facilities update

Facilities update: Facilities leadership (Jeff Ferrato and Rick Champion) walked the board through district operations — custodial, maintenance, grounds and transportation crews — and highlighted day‑to‑day responsibilities across nine school sites. Staff reported hiring and training progress for bus drivers, steps to address aging fleet infrastructure and work to close out legacy Division of the State Architect (DSA) applications. The district reported two of seven previously open DSA jobs have been certified and three more are near completion.
Why it matters: Measure H will fund multi‑site capital projects that require careful procurement, Brown Act‑compliant oversight and independent audits. The COC appointments and DSA closure work are prerequisites to moving projects through design and construction phases.
