Adams County approves amendments to detention facility contracts totaling about $6.3 million

Adams County commissioners on Feb. 3 approved three contract amendments for services at county detention facilities and other county buildings.
County manager introduced the items and said both food and laundry contracts are in their second and final renewal and staff plans to go to competitive solicitation (RFP) this fall. Sean Aligar from the sheriff’s office and facilities staff presented the background.
The board approved:
• Amendment 4 with Summit Food Service for inmate laundry services in the amount of $493,750.50.
• Amendment 4 with Trinity Services Group Incorporated for inmate food services in the amount of $3,425,995.55. (Staff said this is the second and final renewal; a scoping and RFP will follow.)
• Amendment 5 with CCS Facility Services for custodial and carpet cleaning services in the amount of $2,423,183.83. Facilities staff said cost increases reflect wage changes, schedule adjustments (including moving some daytime services to night shifts), added buildings such as the South Parks building, and frequency increases across roughly 40 county facilities.
Each item was presented, commissioners asked clarifying questions about service changes and budget impacts, and the board moved and passed each resolution on the consent calendar during the meeting.
What happens next: procurement will prepare RFP scope and schedule for the next contract cycle and facilities staff will monitor service levels during the contract term.
