The Imperial City Council adopted Resolution 2026-03 to vacate a portion of O Street between 2nd and 3rd streets, a step staff said is necessary for Imperial Trust and Lumber’s proposed lumber storage yard.
Staff noted that the City of Imperial Planning Commission held a public hearing on Dec. 10, 2025, and adopted a resolution finding the project conforms with the city’s general plan. Staff recommended council adopt the resolution confirming the intent to vacate the public right-of-way.
There were no public speakers on the item. The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by a unanimous 5-0 vote.
Next steps: staff will carry out the administrative steps required for a right-of-way vacation and coordinate any required notices and recordation.
