Beaufort County to host free electronics recycling event in Bluffton

Kevin Libby, host of the Beaufort County news headlines, said the Beaufort County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling will hold a free electronics recycling event for county residents tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at River Ridge Academy in Bluffton.
Acceptable items listed in the announcement include personal computers, laptops, CRT and LCD monitors, CRT and non-CRT televisions, printers, hard drives and miscellaneous electronics such as cell phones, tablets and fax machines. Non-acceptable items include microwaves, vacuums, stereo speakers, tuners, VCRs, DVDs and lamps. County staff asked participants to remain in their vehicles during drop-off and to approach the site via Hampton Parkway or Raider Drive. More information was directed to beaufortcountysc.gov/recycle.
The event is limited to Beaufort County residents and is intended to provide a safe disposal option for electronic waste that the county's solid waste department cannot accept at regular collection sites.
