Trustees approved a deductive change order for American Engineering Laboratories, freeing approximately $65,000 back to the district fund.
Facilities staff reported fencing at Laurel Elementary is complete, work at AeroVista and Country Hills is nearing completion, and Brea Junior High fencing will begin shortly. Staff said most hardscape work will be scheduled in summer to avoid student‑use impacts. Facilities emphasized coordination with the city, fire department and property owners to complete safety work and mitigate access impacts.
Earlier in the meeting, Country Hills Elementary presented a slideshow and student council performance highlighting a PBIS Gold Implementation Award, improvements in suspension and chronic absenteeism ratings on the California dashboard and schoolwide programs such as calming boxes and MTSS interventions. Board members and the student board member praised students’ performances and the school’s progress.
Board votes on the listed contracts and ratifications were unanimous where recorded (motion and roll call noted in the minutes). Staff will return with contract details and budgets as required by procurement rules and for future reporting to the board and community.
